16. Hildebrand & Wolfmüller
Motorcycle brands that start with H. This German motorcycle brand was founded in 1894 by Franz Hildebrand and Karl Wolfmüller, who wanted to build bicycles. Their first bike had a single-cylinder engine that produced 1.75 horsepower and could reach a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h).
However, in 1898, they had built 100 bikes, which they sold through dealerships in Germany and surrounding countries. In 1902, they made an electric vehicle that weighed only 60 pounds (27 kg) thanks to its aluminum frame.
